I have questions...

How long have you been doing this?

18 years!

I started my career in the wedding world working for a rental company. Since then I’ve run the gamut from working for one of the most prestigious caterers in San Diego, to the events manager at a golf course, to working for a high-end planner, and then finally started my own company. Betty Blue Events’ first wedding was November 26, 2011

What is your personal style?

Actually, it doesn’t matter what my style is

It’s my job to make your vision come to life. A lot of people know what they like but aren’t sure how to bring it to life or how to translate their personal style into an event. This is one of the most fun parts of my job, I get to pick your brain and come up with a wedding design that is uniquely you. If you really want to know, the style of my home is light, bright and airy with pops of color. The style of my own wedding was dark, romantic and moody, lit only by candlelight. So I’m a bit of a chameleon with my style.

How do I sign up?

The first step is scheduling a consultation with me

It is so important that you and I jive well so I always insist on meeting with you in person or on the phone before you sign a contract. Besides just managing your vendors and designing a tablescape, I will be your advocate, cheerleader and buffer throughout the planning process. Weddings are incredibly personal, emotional, and at times tense so I want to make sure we are a good fit for each other, because we’re going to be getting really close!

How many weddings do you do per day?

Only one per weekend!

Giving your wedding 100% of my attention is paramount. Sometimes unexpected things come up at the rehearsal. Ex. when we arrived and there was a giant dead spot in the grass in the middle of the aisle. I spent the rest of the evening running to every grocery store in town to buy white roses to make an aisle carpeted in petals. If I had another wedding that day I wouldn’t have been able to be there for my couple in the way that I strive to be.

What is the biggest wedding you’ve ever planned?

500 people and an elephant!

Yes, it was as epic as it sounds. Check out the video!

What is the worst thing you’ve had to do?

By far, plunging a historical toilet

Wedding planning is no where near as glamorours as the movies portray. Sometimes my job is to plunge the toilet in a historical home, with historical pipes when drunk guests decide that they just can’t wait in the line at the bathroom. When I say we do whatever it takes to make sure your wedding is perfect, I really mean it.
