Why would I hire a wedding planner?

Here is what the wedding morning looks like for a couple who didn’t hire a wedding planner:

Wake up, check your email to see that the DJ’s computer crashed at their wedding last night but “don’t worry” he has a friend who will loan him equipment.

Get a phone call from the hair stylist that they can’t find the hotel, find out they are at the wrong hotel, let all the wedding party know they’re running late, but don’t worry, we’ll still be on time for the ceremony

Head over to the venue to check on set up, remind the catering staff that table 2 has a severe nut allergy and the bride’s mother is gluten intolerant. Notice that the tables aren’t set up as shown on the floor plan, communicate changes to set up crew. Note to self: go back before dinner to make sure it’s done.

Go to loading dock to direct the florist to the ceremony site. Take bouquets from them and deliver them to the wedding suite.

Finally in the hotel suite, get your hair and makeup done then head back to the reception area to help the caterers find missing place cards, they’re nowhere to be found. Find a solution so your guests won’t think you forgot them

Meet the photographer, bring them to the wedding suite.

Touch up makeup because it’s all sweat off from running around all morning.

Get dressed while trying to look like you are having the best day of your life for photos.

Here is what the wedding morning looks like for the couple who hired Betty Blue Events:

Wake up, have brunch with your wedding party

Stylist arrives at your door, sip champagne while getting beautiful

Planner arrives to check you have everything you need, inform her you forgot to get the place cards from your mom, no worries, she’ll figure it out.

Photographer arrives just as you are finished getting ready to snap photos of you with all your wedding party having a mini dance party to “Going to the chapel”

None of this is said to be a scare tactic. The honest truth is that being a wedding planner is hard work, a lot of running around and way less glamorous than people tend to think.  When I got married I had already been working in the wedding industry for 9 years, I knew it was not the kind of work I wanted to do on my own wedding day. So I hired someone to worry about all of the details for me. It’s not the kind of work I want you doing on your wedding day, either. Your wedding day is about love and union ond bringing two families together, and yes, about having a fantastic party.  I really truly believe that hiring a wedding planner will be the best decision for your wedding

Xoxo,
